prof. PhDr. Zdeněk Kuba, CSc.
Head of Department of Economics
He has been working in a university teaching sector since 1965. He has come in all pedagogical levels from junior lecturer, docent to professor. At the same time he has operated in various management functions as a head of university department, vice-rector at Business School Ostrava plc and nowadays he is a member of Academic Board at Business School Ostrava plc. His professional specialization is microeconomics and macroeconomics in bachelor as well as master study programme, he also teaches in related disciplines especially history of economic thinking and entrepreneurship. His publishing activity is now oriented to area of lecturing and its methodology, matters linked with microeconomics, macroeconomics and entrepreneurship in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Ing. Vladimír Vavrečka, CSc.
Head of the Department of Marketing and Trade
Graduated at the Economic Faculty of VŠB-TU Ostrava, branch of industry economics (1982). At the same faculty, he stated his doctoral thesis focused on the issues of marketing (1991). In 1990 he was one of the founders of the Department of Marketing and Trade at the Economic Faculty of VŠB-TU Ostrava, where he subsequently served in the office as the head. Since 1991, he worked also at the Institute for Business Development, Ltd., of which he was the manager. After years he has been cooperating in external cooperation with the British company Enterprise plc and since 1998, he became its Director of the Czech subsidiary Enterprise plc, s.r.o. (since 2002). At Business School Ostrava plc, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the company and from 1. 9.2010 he has chaired the position of Head of the Department of Business and Management in Trade. Since 2010 he has been also a member of the Board of Directors of BSO, in the framework of scientific research and teaching activities focus in particular on the issues of marketing, regional (economic) development, and tourism.
PhDr. Lukáš Durda
Head of the Institute of Key Competencies in Entrepreneurship
Graduated at Faculty of Social Science at Charles University in Prague. Since 2004 he has been working at Business School Ostrava plc. He is a lecture of Psychology and Sociology in Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Skills. He joined the school working as a Head of Section at Department of Entrepreneurship and the Head of Master Degree Study Programme. Nowadays he has held the Institute of Key Competences.
He has gained his practical experience and knowledge in numbers of non-profit institutions as a project manager, analyst and consultant as well as a research worker. In recent years he has taken a
part in a few study interships focusing on entrepreneurship and its lecturing at Harvard Business School and Babson College in the USA and TeamAcademy in Finland. In his publishing, research and
project activities he has aimed for lecturing of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.
Ing. Mgr. Tomáš Tykva
Head of the Institute of Professional and Specialized Competencies in Entrepreneurship
Graduated at Ostrava Business School plc and the University of Ostrava, and University of J.A. Komenský in Prague. He also gained his wide experience in the course of Business Fundamentals at
Canadian Capillano
College.
From the beginning of his professional career he has devoted to the issue of entrepreneurship, focusing on management and human resources management and the enterprise economy and regional
development. In
the early days of his professional life, he worked as a sales manager, since 2005 as a university teacher. He has been actively engaging in scientific research tasks and participates in major
projects co-financed by the ESF and the ERDF.
prof. Ing. Zdeněk Mikoláš, CSc.
Head of the Department of business and management
Responsible for study programme economics and management and supervisor of training business has long been devoted to the issue of the economy and business management, entrepreneurship and the business environment. In the subject he graduated at university, won the titles Ph.D., Associate Professor and Professor. He worked at the Technical University Ostrava, WSZMiJO University Katowice, Ostrava Business School plc, where he remains now in the role of an educator. Actively he has been cooperating also with other universities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. He has worked also in the industrial, business and research practice, e.g. SMEZ Ostrava, VÚROM Ostrava, the OECD, the private investment fund, in the statutory bodies of the different companies, etc. In the spring of 1990, he started the business in the area of advisory services and the activity of his company still operates. He has written or is a co-author of hundreds of articles, contributions to conferences, script, books, etc.
